SINGAPORE, 20 August 2026 – ESGpedia supported two of its clients, Teambuild Construction Group and Crestar Fans, to achieve the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) and Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Leadership in Sustainability Awards, under the Businesses category.

The award recognises organisations that have deeply embedded sustainability into their core business strategy and operations, delivering consistent, measurable, and industry-leading environmental and social outcomes. This recognition is reserved for companies with mature ESG frameworks, robust tracking systems, and proven stakeholder engagement that drives real-world change.

Both Teambuild Construction Group and Crestar Fans worked with ESGpedia to move from manual, fragmented sustainability efforts to structured, data-driven ESG management, achieving not only tangible business outcomes and internal excellence, but also accelerating the broader market transformation toward a sustainable future.

Teambuild Construction Group: Full Value Chain Decarbonisation with Strong ESG Governance

SGBC-BCA Business Leadership in Sustainability – Impact Award: Leadership Through Integration & Results

Teambuild Construction Group emerged as the sole Main Contractor recognised in the Business category this year, standing out by building environmental performance directly into its construction management systems and eliminating seven systemic inefficiencies that generate waste and carbon emissions.

Sustainability is a CEO-level mandate at Teambuild, embedded in its QEHSS Policy and defining operational standards across all projects and business functions, with accountability held at leadership level. The company has set ambitious targets against a 2024 baseline: a 45% reduction in carbon intensity by 2030, alongside reductions in diesel, electricity, and water intensity. To advance these goals, it has implemented solar energy systems and Battery Energy Storage Systems to cut diesel reliance, as well as AI-powered robotic spray painting to boost productivity while reducing material consumption.

Teambuild adopted the ESGpedia platform for carbon emissions tracking and measurement, and multi-contractor project management, to support its annual sustainability reporting aligned with GRI Standards, as well as to gain enhanced visibility over its full value chain emissions to better pave decarbonisation pathways.

Subcontractor engagement digitally facilitated by ESGpedia was central to this effort, with Teambuild prioritising green procurement.

Victoria Tan, Deputy Director of Corporate Development, Teambuild Construction Group, said: “ESGpedia has been instrumental in our SGBC-BCA Leadership in Sustainability Awards win, helping us transform our approach to sustainability and better manage emissions from our extensive construction network. We now have a deeper understanding of our company’s environmental and social impact, enabling more efficient practices and fostering a culture of transparency and accountability in our operations.”

Crestar Fans: How a 25-Person SME Transformed Sustainability into Business Impact

SGBC-BCA Business Leadership in Sustainability – Transformation Award: Leadership Through Strategic Change

Crestar Fans, a Singapore-based ceiling fan distributor, made a deliberate strategic shift to embed sustainability and digitalisation at its core, which included redefining its business purpose and relooking at its operations and product design. Notably, the company took a structured approach to carbon accounting and sustainability reporting with ESGpedia, shifting from manual processes to a digital workflow, enabling data-driven decision-making and the adoption of AI capabilities to enhance productivity and workforce effectiveness.

The results were significant, with deep operational gains. In its 2025 GRI-aligned Sustainability Report supported by ESGpedia, Crestar Fans reported a 62% reduction in total greenhouse gas emissions compared to its 2023 baseline. This progress was driven by a series of sustainability initiatives, including the electrification of its vehicle fleet, improvements in energy efficiency, and greater visibility over environmental performance through digital reporting.

Beyond operations, the improved data visibility strengthened Crestar Fans’ competitive edge and advancement of its corporate roadmap, earning the company international recognition through a string of prestigious awards, including Microsoft Top 50 Global Leader in AI Adoption, the Sustainability Champion at the ANT International Emerging Champion Awards 2025, and the ESBN Asia-Pacific Green Deal Silver Badge.

Shawn Lee, COO at Crestar Fans, said: “The SGBC-BCA award win is a testament to our commitment to improving both our environmental impact and the way we do business, demonstrating that even a 25-person SME can integrate sustainability and digitalisation to deliver measurable environmental and business outcomes. With our emissions and sustainability performance clearly tracked and reportable since adopting ESGpedia, we are committed to building on this progress through continued innovation in sustainable product design, responsible sourcing, operational efficiency, and the use of technology to drive measurable ESG outcomes.”

Supporting Singapore’s Built Environment on the Path to Net Zero

As sustainability criteria continue to feature more prominently in both public and private tenders, and as Singapore’s built environment sector works toward national decarbonisation goals, companies are under growing pressure to track, verify, and demonstrate their environmental performance.

The achievements of Teambuild Construction Group and Crestar Fans reflect the value of pairing ESG technology platforms with genuine organisational commitment, turning sustainability data into a driver of measurable, real-world impact.

Benjamin Soh, Founder and Managing Director at  ESGpedia, said: “We are proud to have supported Teambuild Construction Group and Crestar Fans on their sustainability journeys, and to see their efforts recognised at this year’s SGBC-BCA Leadership in Sustainability Awards. Their achievements demonstrate what is possible when strong leadership commitment is backed by credible, robust ESG data.”
