Data Scientist Intern (AI & Automation) 

We are looking for an Data Scientist Intern (AI & Automation) to support our ESG data and AI initiatives. You will work on real client-facing projects, helping to clean and structure ESG and procurement data, standardise schemas, and support our AI-powered tools.  

This role is a good fit if you enjoy hands-on data work (Python + SQL), are curious about GenAI/LLMs, and want to see how ESG and data come together in production systems.  

Job Responsibilities
Data Cleaning & Preparation

  • Ingest, clean, and transform ESG, procurement, and activity data.
  • Perform data quality checks.

Schema Mapping & Standardisation 

  • Support schema mapping for incoming client datasets to our internal ESG schemas. 
  • Assist in configuring and improving semi-automated schema mapping tools.
  • Document common data patterns and reusable mappings. 

AI / Scope 3 Project Support 

  • Help build and maintain evaluation datasets for AI models. 
  • Analyse model outputs vs ground truth and generate simple evaluation reports. 
  • Assist in running experiments with different prompts / configurations for LLM-based workflows and logging results. 

Pipeline Automation & Documentation 

  • Help turn ad-hoc notebooks into reusable workflows. 
  • Add basic logging, checks, and documentation so workflows are easier to run and debug. 

Ad-hoc Analysis & Support 

  • Support the team with ad-hoc data analysis tasks. 

What you will gain:

  • Exposure to a modern data stack (Databricks, cloud data, ML/LLM workflows). 
  • Practical understanding of how AI and automation are applied to ESG reporting and Scope 3 emissions. 
  • Experience working in a small, fast-moving team where your work directly supports product and client delivery. 
  • Mentorship in data best practices, pipeline design, and AI-assisted workflows. 
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, ideally with coursework in Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence. 
  • Basic programming skills in at least one language; Python is preferred. 
  • Basic working knowledge of SQL for querying and transforming data. 
  • Exposure to LLMs / Generative AI (e.g. used an API or built a simple project using prompts) is a plus. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Detail oriented and data driven, strong in problem solving skills. 
  • Proficient with the use of MS Excel, Powerpoint, Word.
