Summary

SINGAPORE, 24 September 2025 – Constellar, managing operator of Singapore EXPO, has entered into a partnership with Asia’s leading Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) data and technology company ESGpedia, to implement carbon emissions calculation for Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) events that take place at Singapore EXPO, Asia’s leading MICE playground. The partnership also includes digital sustainability enablement for Constellar’s suppliers, with the aim of advancing its green supply chain and sustainable procurement strategy.

Through the partnership, Constellar will be utilising ESGpedia’s digital solutions on sustainability reporting and carbon accounting, to effectively calculate and report the event carbon emissions of MICE events at Singapore EXPO, as well as streamline its sustainable supply chain management to facilitate value chain decarbonisation.

Notably, Singapore EXPO is Singapore’s largest purpose-built MICE venue and Asia’s most sustainable MICE venue powered by onsite renewable energy.

Starting 2023, as part of the MICE Sustainability Roadmap, launched by Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Singapore Association of Convention & Exhibition Organisers & Suppliers (SACEOS), the Singapore MICE industry is required to track waste and carbon emissions, to reduce waste as aligned with the Singapore Green Plan by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 in line with the national net-zero target.

With rising sustainability regulations for the MICE sector and increasing demands for businesses to implement emission reduction strategies, the adoption of ESGpedia for MICE carbon emissions calculation and supplier enablement will not only help Constellar advance in its sustainability commitment, but also help it better align with Singapore’s national sustainability goals for the MICE industry1 and boost its competitiveness.

Chua Wee Phong, Group Chief Executive Officer at Constellar, said: “As managing operators of Asia’s most sustainable MICE venue powered by renewable energy, Singapore EXPO, Constellar is proud to lead the industry’s sustainability transformation – and we’re not stopping here. We continue to push boundaries by setting world-class benchmarks in sustainable operations and embracing cutting-edge technologies that empower event organisers to deliver exceptional tradeshows and exhibitions. Our collaboration with ESGpedia enables organisers to calculate carbon footprints and engage suppliers digitally, fostering a united approach toward shared sustainability goals. This initiative also supports the Singapore Tourism Board’s vision of positioning Singapore as the World’s Best MICE City.”

Benjamin Soh, Founder and Managing Director at ESGpedia, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Constellar in its sustainability efforts through ESGpedia’s carbon accounting and sustainability reporting solutions. With Constellar being a definitive leader in the MICE industry and region, we are positive that through accelerating Constellar’s sustainability initiatives, we are able to jointly move the needle in strengthening Singapore’s position as a leading sustainable urban destination in the region.”

Through a fully digitalised greenhouse gas (GHG) calculation and reporting process on ESGpedia, Constellar will be able to account for the full GHG emissions of MICE events. With the scale of trade shows and exhibitions at Singapore EXPO often being regional, with attendees flying in from other countries to attend, utilising ESGpedia will help Constellar credibly quantify and gain insights into the comprehensive MICE event GHG emissions, from the attendees’ travel and hotel stay, to operations at the event venue, food and beverage value chain, as well as waste disposal.

The enhanced emissions data insights can help Constellar better pave its decarbonisation strategy and improve operational efficiency at future MICE events. An event carbon emissions report can also be swiftly generated, aligned with international reporting frameworks, to transparently and credibly showcase Constellar’s sustainability efforts.

Constellar’s suppliers, oftentimes small and medium enterprises (SMEs), lack the resources for sustainability. To build sustainability capability amongst its suppliers, suppliers working with Constellar can leverage ESGpedia’s digital solutions to take guided steps towards carbon accounting and reporting.

Looking ahead, ESGpedia and Constellar will continue to jointly drive a low carbon MICE industry in line with the Singapore Green Plan 2030, to strengthen Singapore’s position as one of the most sustainable MICE destinations in Asia Pacific.
